Job Description

Elluminates Software Corporation is looking to fill a full-time Lab Engineer position. This position is as a deployed engineer located onsite at one of our Federal customers in the Washington D.C. metro area. The Lab Engineer will be key to develop an enterprise lab that brings multiple labs together as a Federated lab.
Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support VMware vSphere, vCenter, NetApp Storage, Cisco and/or HP servers and Cisco switching
  • Work with customers to determine their functional needs
  • Translate customer needs into hardware/software requirements for existing or new hardware/software applications for the lab
  • Help consolidate the multiple labs into an “Enterprise lab” model
  • Deploy lab IT systems
  • Support Lab Lead/Lab Manager
  • Participate in functional or UAT testing to ensure final product meets intent of the customer’s needs
  • Conduct Technical Exchange Meetings
  • Create test plans, installation guides, technical specifications, white papers as needed
  • Communicate regularly to government POCs regarding project activities and status
Years of Experience and Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years recent VMware experience
  • 2+ years NetApp storage
  • 3-5+ years Cisco switching using high availability and redundancy at both the hardware and protocol level
Required Qualifications
  • Experience working with customers to capture/document requirements
  • Strong ability to multi-task and work independently
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with hardware platforms such as NetApp, HP Servers, Cisco Servers, Cisco switching
  • Knowledge on how to configure Cisco switches, bring up server hardware and configure virtual environments using centralized storage
  • Experience with enterprise storage arrays (e.g. NetApp, EMC, Hitachi, etc.)
  • Strong scripting skills
