Job Description

Elluminates Software Corporation is looking to fill a DevOps engineer position with strong VMware and Amazon Web Services experience. This position will create cloud formation templates to build AWS services that support our GOTs, COTs and custom applications around the world. Knowledge of load balancing and Hybrid Cloud designs is a plus.
In this role, you’ll work collaboratively with GITM engineering to design, deploy and operate our systems. Help automate and streamline our operations and processes. Build and maintain tools for deployment, monitoring and operations. And troubleshoot and resolve issues in our dev, test and production environments.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Design and build VMC on AWS customer SDDCs and VMware supporting infrastructure
  • Work closely with engineering teams to improve maintainability and reliability of services
  • Handle seamless upgrades of infrastructure and services through automation
  • Identify, gather, analyze and automate responses to key performance metrics, logs, and alerts
  • Ensure compliance with appropriate security standards
  • Conduct post-mortems to analyze failures and prevent recurrence
  • Provide service support by participating in regular on-call shifts responding to service issues
 Education Requirements:
 Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
Minimum Qualifications
  • Strong background in VMware and AWS Administration
  • Experience with automation/configuration management using either Puppet, Chef or an equivalent
  • Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and cloud services (experience with AWS services)
  • Strong experience with SQL 
  • A working understanding of code and script (PowerShell, Bash, Batch files, etc)
  • Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service architecture (BluePrints, etc)
  • Systematic problem-solving approach coupled with a strong sense of ownership and independence
  • Experience administering Linux systems in a production environment
  • Experience providing on-call support for high priority incidents
  • Operational experience with networking and an understanding of networking principles
  • Experience with VMware vSphere products: i.e. vCenter, ESX, vSAN and NSX
  • U.S. with a minimum Interim Secret U.S. government security clearance
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience operating, troubleshooting, and scaling online services
  • Experience reviewing security scans and remediating vulnerabilities
  • Experience with modern container orchestration systems: e.g. Kubernetes, Mesos, DC/OS, Swarm
  • Familiarity with security issues in the cloud such as intrusion, penetration, and vulnerability scanning
  • Experience with monitoring solutions: e.g. ELK, Splunk, SUMO, Nagios, Prometheus
  • Experience with Remedy/ServiceNow and PagerDuty or similar tools
  • Experience with Change Management processes and functions
  • Experience with various data management technologies including relational and non-relational databases and message queues
