Junior Deployment Coordinator

Position Description:   

Elluminates Software Corporation is looking for a full-time Junior Deployment Coordinator. This position is in support of the Department of State (DOS) as a part of the Vanguard 2.2.1 contract. A current TS security clearance is required for consideration.  The candidate will be responsible for the development and deployment plans for all GITM software and hardware releases. The candidate will support the continuing goal of incorporating these innovative technologies into the Department’s GITM Global Information Technology Modernization division (GITM) program.


Duties and Responsibilities:

Execute the duties and responsibilities as a member of the Global IT Modernization (GITM) Virtual Infrastructure Team (VI) at the DOS IRM bureau.   
  • Coordinating with development and QA teams such as Vanguard engineering to ensure that the software meets all requirements.
  • Executing deployments on time and with minimal disruption to users.
  • Monitoring the system during and after deployment to ensure that it is functioning properly.
  • Managing all aspects of the end-to-end release process including change control.
  • Updating service knowledge management system.
  • Ensuring teams follow the organization’s established policies and procedures.
  • Providing management reports on release progress.
  • Signing off the release package for implementation.
  • Communicating, preparing and training stakeholders.
  • Auditing hardware and software before and after the implementation of release package changes.
  • Installing new or upgraded hardware.
  • Managing a support team that performs most of the day-to-day work.
  • Assisting the Program Manager and the development team members in planning each release.
  • Assisting a deployment team with data collection 
  • Heavy data entry for multiple projects  
  • Heavy dependency on MS outlook and MS Team
  • Work directly with program personnel and customer when items need to be addressed.  
  • Perform various administrative duties that will vary by assigned program.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with good attention to detail 
  • Flexibility - we accommodate the embassy's work hours; occasionally, we have go/no go meetings at odd hours due to the time difference.
  • Ability to schedule, track, and monitor projects, tasks, and installers.
 
Required Experience/Skills/Attributes:   
  • Experience leading system integration projects as the technical lead.  
  • Experience working with customers to capture/document requirements. 
Desired Experience/Skills/Attributes:   
  • Experience with Ansible
  • Knowledge or Training on HPDM 5.0 deployment, configuration, and 
  • maintenance.
  • Knowledge or Training on VMware and ESX 6.0+ deployment, configuration, and maintenance.  
  • Cloud technologies with an emphasis on Azure or Amazon Web Services. 
  • Active Directory experience, particularly in a large environment. 
  • Strong scripting skills.  
  • LAN/WAN networking experience.  
  • Ability to apply ITIL v3 Foundation concepts within the workplace.  
  • DOS processes.  
 
Years of Experience and Education Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • Type: Full-Time
  • Required Clearance: Top Secret (Active) 
  • Location:  Hybrid on site in Springfield, VA (on-site 2 days per week (Wednesday & Friday)/3 days remote (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday)).
  • Shift: Normal Business Hours
