Job Description


As the Chief of Staff, Product, to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Elluminates Software, you’ll work directly for the CEO on strategically chosen projects, decision making, and messaging that further our attainment of Elluminates Software Product strategic vision. 

You'll be a critical partner to other Product stakeholders across the business, communicating plans, evaluating stakeholder questions, and paving our company’s path forward.

This role will work directly with the CEO and Product team members to help develop the Go-To-Market strategy for the launch of Elluminates Software’s products. You will help set the cadence to bring together customer insights, team member insights, executive direction, and market data to help drive the direction of Product at the company.

You will help us drive Product towards Product-Market-Fit (PMF). You will conduct 1:1s throughout the organization and with customers, gathering feedback and synthesizing that into effective meetings as well as organizing quarterly Product off-site summits. You will at times act in place of the CEO as his representative when meeting with customers on Product to strengthen our company’s relationships with customers and understand customer needs which will be fed back into Product development or understanding.

Your work will contribute to Product direction, strategic planning, project management, performance analysis, team analytics, executive meetings and communications.

This role requires a self-driven individual, with a technical software or product background, experience working with executives, and senior technical staff and the ability to lead through influence.

Duties and Responsibilities:
 
  • Help develop how our new SaaS Automation product will be positioned, priced, promoted, and distributed to the target audience.
  • Help fuse together Product, Marketing, Sales and Customer Intelligence to form a fully aligned offering.
  • Help determine the target audience with Ideal Customer Profiles (ICPs) and refine user personas.
  • Help develop out our distribution channels strategy
  • Develop with Executives the product messaging and positioning
  • Work to develop models with our finance to determine the best pricing strategies that enable the user to have the most successful journey as they use our products
  • Think about positioning with our brand and sub-brands
  • Help us develop out our Product-Led Growth (PLG) strategies
  • Work closely with the Elluminates Software Automation team to understand developer needs internally as well as meet with external teams to understand their needs
  • Help bring the pieces together to launch products
  • Lead initiatives and projects on behalf of the CEO’s Product efforts
  • Develop out a clear plan and direction along with the Executive team for products
  • Help develop out our customer success approach
  • Research, document and offer recommendations to keep the Product organization on a path of continuous improvement. 
  • Collaborate with internal teams and Executive teams to prepare for customer meetings, conferences and events.
  • Act as the CEO’s Product proxy and highly-accessible Product information source for other major functions, including Engineering, Marketing, HR, Talent Acquisition, Finance, Legal and Operations
  • Provide the CEO with insightful data-driven recommendations in all facets of the Product org's operation.
 
Required Qualifications
 
  • Strong understanding of software, technology stacks, and technology trends at a strategic level
  • Experience working with executive level leaders
  • Ability to articulate how you helped produce success stories for complex product deliveries
  • The ability to articulate strategies for Product and launching products
  • Excellent communication skills, both in front of others and in writing and the ability to product high quality artifacts such as executive-ready plans and show a pattern of high-quality decision making with a strategic impact.
  • Experience partnering with cross-functional teams and the demonstrated ability to handle ambiguity to produce clarity in direction and messaging
  • Be extremely technically curious and want to see how technology can have a positive impact for users
  • Use Problem-solving frameworks, making the goals clear and drive execution efficiencies  
 
Desired Qualifications
  • Prior experience as a software or engineer is preferred
  • Previous experience as a Chief of Staff or Technical Product Manager
  • Knowledge of modern software development workflows, tooling, automation technologies, AI, and familiarity with business process change or business process re-engineering approaches
  • Proven results working with executives and the ability to lead through influence

Years of Experience and Education Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree and 12+ years of related experience with 5+ years of experience working in a highly technical industry and 3+ years of experience in Product Management or similar role

Type: Part-Time
Clearance: Secret or above to work with Federal customers
Location: Minimum of 1-2 days a week in Chantilly, VA, with remote work hours to be determined
Shift: Normal Business Hours
Type of Travel: Local
